Through ancient highland trails, past wild lochs and the shadow of Ben Nevis, this is Scotland on foot the way it was meant to be walked.
Scotland does not ease you in gently. From the moment you arrive in the Highlands, the landscape makes its presence known: vast open moorland, dramatic glens, ancient woodland, and lochs that stretch further than you can see. This 8-day trek through the Scottish Highlands is one of the most rewarding walking experiences in the world, and it was designed to take you right into the heart of it.
You will spend five days on two of Scotland's most celebrated long-distance trails, the West Highland Way and the East Highland Way, covering some of their most remote and spectacular sections. The West Highland Way takes you along the wild wooded shoreline of Loch Lomond, across the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor, through Glencoe, and into the shadow of Ben Nevis, Scotland's tallest mountain. The East Highland Way then carries you deeper into the highlands, through ancient forests and over open moorland to Pattack Falls and on to Newtonmore.
Two qualified UK Mountain Leaders are with you every step of the way. Your luggage transfers between accommodations so you walk with just a daypack. And on days when the terrain asks more than you want to give, the support vehicle is there.
This is a moderate to challenging walking trip covering between 11 and 14 miles per hiking day. It will ask something of you and give you everything back in return.
